You sure-fire you have a '81 card and not an '82? There were no facsimile autographs on the 81 cards; there were on the '82s. Guessing you're looking at the stats on the back and see the last year is 1981?
Plain mistake, but I never have understood why so many people think the company predicted the stats for that season instead of reaching the inferential assumption that it's the stats from the previous year.
